ÉtudeSecours is a digital school accredited by the Ministry of Education and supports 300 schools across Quebec. Courses are offered asynchronously, allowing each student to enjoy great flexibility while benefiting from a structured environment and rigorous support from their teacher.

Challenges of an Online Education Pioneer

Throughout the evolution of its services and the needs of its target clientele, namely high school students, ÉtudeSecours has constantly evolved its online educational services. ÉtudeSecours has offered a platform since its founding in 2011. In 2021, it launched Esra, a new online learning platform unique in Quebec, thanks to its team of developers. With very busy summer periods, ÉtudeSecours was looking for a solution to manage a large volume of registrations for its summer courses, and to optimize communications and user access.

Moreover, as an online school, ÉtudeSecours must navigate the complex regulatory landscape of data protection and privacy. The school wanted to improve data security and comply with Law 25 on the protection of personal information.

Google for Education: A Comprehensive and Flexible Solution

To meet these challenges, ÉtudeSecours opted for the solution offered by Google for Education, thanks in part to the Google Classroom APIs and the advanced features of Google for Education Plus licenses.

Simplified user management

Creating Google for Education accounts for each student allowed for centralized and secure access. The automation of the account creation and deletion process, developed by ÉtudeSecours’ internal team, optimized the management of licenses and organizational units, while eliminating connection problems related to personal email addresses.

Simplified evaluation steps

Integrating Classroom with the third-party evaluation platform, via API, simplified the evaluation process and reduced technical support efforts related to connection problems. This integration created a more fluid user experience for students and optimized teachers’ time.

Enhanced security and compliance

Adopting Google Workspace for Education Plus strengthened data security and facilitated compliance with Law 25. The use of Google audits also improved incident management and ensured a safe and caring learning environment.

Optimization of asynchronous learning paths

Classroom offered a robust and flexible solution for managing asynchronous and personalized learning paths, allowing each student to progress at their own pace while benefiting from adequate support.

Efficient management of registration peaks

The robustness and scalability of the Google for Education platform allowed ÉtudeSecours to effectively manage registration peaks during the summer session.
